Hi all,
Just wanted to tell you what a goof I am:
I broke one of the cardinal rules of using a knife today and sliced an inch and half gash on my inner thigh above my knee. Sitting on the floor making some paracord fobs I used my new Saver Salt to cut the cord as I finished, cut toward my leg instead of away from me for some dumb reason and Wow! Interesting thing, it didn't hurt...then. Now is a different story. So, there ya go. I'm a dork. But on the up side, the Saver is a really, really good cutter for cord...and skin. :) :o

Sorry to hear about that. Did you need stitches? There was a thread in this subforum a little bit ago about using honey on wounds to aid in the healing process and reduce the chance of scarring.

You may want to look into that.

I had a bad one myself 2 weeks ago with my 0300. The handle was overhanging the edge of the table, and i went to turn and I hit the handle with my hand, and the blade flipped around cutting the back of my hand with a nice 1 inch gash behind the thumb. It healed after about 5 days of neosporin and peroxide. THEN, where I had waterproof bandaids on during the day, where the stickyness was, I got a bad, almost unendurable rash in the shape of the band aid that I had to get steroid cream for. Bad week and a half. Keep that thing clean and all should be well.

I hope I don't need stitches because I didn't go get them. I scrubbed it out with dial soap and water then put on some steri-strips. When I'm sure it won't split wide open again, I may make a honey poultice and put it on there.

Oh that sucks! Sorry to hear about that. I'm off for a few days and was looking forward to doing some riding on my bicycle and now I'm a little worried about this cut. I'm hoping that the steri-strips and an Op-site will keep it clean and dry and react too badly with sweat. I hope i'm not grounded from my bike with this thing...that would truly suck!
Glad yours healed up well.
