Yes, I learned that the hard way too. A little balisong flipping has cured me of that tendency though.

My 3 week old wound still hurts and is slightly raised from the surface of the skin. Maybe it's some sort of slow-acting infection.

Very nice... I impaled my hand on a fillet knife blade I was making a few years back. I was rubbing out some marks on the blade with some steel wool when I dropped it. I was seated at the time and so when I stupidly went to catch it (the blade was falling point up), the rear of the tang hit my thigh and the motion of my downward thrusting hand earned me an in-and-out-the-other-side wound. Puncture wounds suck... but hey, at least I never became an ass-sheath.
