Hi Steve.
Yes it an original, commissioned by me. I don't think you would know the painter, he's a friend of mine called David Wild. He's retired now, mostly, but does some lecturing. I think his greatest claim to fame is that he was once the painting instructor at the Slade School of Art in London.
He also let me keep the study he did in watercolour while preparing to do the real thing. I think I can trust Mr Wild to be sufficiently a luddite not to ever see this post, so will dare to say that I like the initial exercise better than the finished painting! (Well, I think I do. Haven't seen either for a few weeks!)

I just found out the Malla's karda and chakma have bolsters! I've seldom seen karda or chakma of such kind. Is it special / rare feature of them? Even the gorgeous kothimoda doesn't have bolsters on its chakma and karda.
Uncle, I'll appreciate if my next khukuri (not for certain now) has its c&k with bolsters on them. Is it possible?
