Our Finalists 2017 CKCA-Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge

Many congratulations to both!

Dan is a personal friend and I had the pleasure of driving him to Knoxville, TN, in 1989 to be judged and receive his Masters Stamp when the Blade Show was held at the Olympic Village there.

Great job, Gentlemen!

I'm really pleased to see this pair getting the opportunity.

Dan is an undersung and VERY talented veteran Mastersmith (a college professor as well, correct?)

Logan has never ceased to stand out from the crowd, and in a relatively short period.

This will be VERY interesting to watch their art and function develop further!

It will be difficult to beat Dan's innovation in the final round of this. I do plan on giving him a run for his money though. I just need to make sure that I don't get too crazy with my designing. lol.

Logan's knife was beautiful and the judges had a difficult time making the decision. It was my pleasure just to compete for this honor.

Dan,

Congratulations!

I'm sure that both knives were great. Can you tell us about your knife?

Do you have any photos of either your knife or Logan's?

Thanks,

Jim Treacy

Congratulations my friend and great to have you on Bladeforums....if I don't see you before I look forward to seeing you in KC. :)

Sorry everyone about the delay in announcement. Ryan and I have been non-stop since we left for our mini vacation prior to blade to us arriving home earlier this week.

Logan and Dan both brought designs geared towards alternative handle material/design. The judging was close but Dan's design was chosen as the winner!

Caleb Royer was our official Challenge, on site, photographer. Once he completes editing and sends them to us we will share them with everyone. As many know Caleb will be getting married soon and taking a few weeks off for his honeymoon, so please be patient and hope we get them back sooner rather than later.

What the gentlement brought to judging were different than what was sent to our other photographer, Buddy, as we would prefer to show off their actual pieces submitted.

Thank you for all that submitted applications and congrats to the two finalist but of course an ovation to Dan for being chosen as winner.
