What us locals like to call Gods Country! Beautiful pics and I hope get to move here someday.

My wife and I went there this past winter. I am from up state NY and love the cold. My wife is from S FL. The Marine Corps has always put me on the beach and in hot climates. I want to retire to Montana, Colorado, the Dakota's, or somwhere like that. She want's to stay in FL. SO it looks like TN is a good compramise. I can't believe the housing market there. It seems the dollar still has some value there. Is there a catch? Taxes?

Looks like a beautiful place. Is there good fishing in that river?

Thanks for sharing.

Fishing tends to be good overall. But there are a lot of anglers during the warmer months. Trout rule! You will find Browns, Rainbows, and Brook trout depending on the stream and elevation. Most of the larger flow streams that are low in elevation are full of mostly Rainbow trout. You will see natural reproduction of all species of trout in the Smoky's.

Beautiful photos. Trying to get us into the winter mood? ;) We used to hit Gatlinburg for both Thanksgiving and Christmas Days for dinner and sometimes stay a few days. Love that time of the year. You certainly get an entirely different perspective on the mountains during the winter months there. By spring I am so used to no leaves that I hate to see the new decideous growth and then by October I hate to see the change back to winter. The Smoky Mt NP is very special. My sister and her husband plan on retiring in that area. My wife and I have looked at a few properties a few years ago.

I used to love the ocean but have recently grown tired of it. I love the mountains and would love to retire to the pnw but $$$ is a factor. Tn seems to offer a bit of everything and the housing market is ridiculous.

Thanks for the pics, the smoky's rock!
I never made it up in the winter, but did in the spring, summer & fall.
I still remember the fall colors, beautiful.
