I posted this in the Busse forum too... but, they fit in here better perhaps!

My wife and I spent part of Friday, Saturday and a few hours this morning up on the North Shore of Minnesota's Lake Superior.

Here are a couple of the pictures from the trip. the weather was just perfect for it! We hiked about 2-3 miles and got a lot of fresh (cold) air!

Awesome pictures! I usually head up to the north shore of Michigan or Minnesoata in October but can't this year. These pictures will help me thru the sadness!
I'd like to live up there.

Wow, great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Very stunning scenery. I had no idea there was anything like that on the great lakes.

I'd say they were between 150 and 170 feet high..... could be more, but thats my official estimate! It looked like far enough that I didn't wanna slip and go head first over the side! ha ha

Edited to say: I estimated the guys size and how many of him could stack up to the top! :-)

Edited again to say: Ok, I was really curious how far off I would be so I did some research. The high-point on this rock is "over 300'" and we were within I'd say, 50" of the very peak. So..... at this point where the guy was climbing it probably was closer to 225-250 feet!! No wonder it looked Faaaaaar down there!

Thanks for sharing the pics. I spent most of my vacation time as a youth up the North Shore and in the Boundary Waters. My father grew up in Duluth, and we would visit my Grandfather every summer and winter. As I got older, my brother and I would take annual BWCA trips in early July. I miss those times! Haven't been back up that way in 15-16 yrs. Gotta do something about that...

Crap! You own this State??? I have been here well.... over 40 years and dont even think i ever heard of you! ha ha
