Ello Everyone!

SWMBO, Jero Junior and I have been out & about in South Wales this weekend taking advantage of the surprisingly clement weather. Thought I'd post a few pics:

First off, Skirrid Woods, near Abergavenny.

It's a bit of a trek to the peak with Junior in tow. Tired little legs meant we just mooched about the woods half way up.
I was glad we did as we stumbled over this in a clearing way off the paths:

The makings of a few Shelters / Debris Huts, Fire Pit & log seats.
Turns out the National Trust set the area up for local schools. no one is using it anymore apparently. I'll be making enquiries about getting permission there for sure!

Then Sunday, it was off to Blaen-Y-Glyn waterfalls near Talybont On Usk

You can just see our destination in the centre of the pic.

It's almost hidden by the undergrowth - Most unusual!
Any ideas anyone?

All in all, two great mornings out!

Some fantastic pics there - might have to head over for a mooch myself! Looks like you had a great time.

Great stuff J, it's nice to see some pics from the UK as they are not posted enough on this forum !
I used to go to Wales every year on holiday when I lived in the UK !!!!

Hey Foxyrick what part of England are you from bro ?

jeroboam, hola

Good water features. I like Wales. Incidentally, noticed these Welsh finally got their planning permission.

Dunno about that stone. I believe Adee is a variant of Addie so maybe a marker for a miscarried foetus.

Great photos, thanks for sharing. I hold a 3 star British Canoe Union rating, seakayaking here in the USA. It has always been my dream to someday paddle the coastlike of Wales, some of the most fearsome ocean action to be found.

Looks like a great time. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful area you have there!!!

The stone is an Irish curse... J/K I have no idea, just messing.

Jeroboam, I don't know if this is your first post in WS&S or not but it the first i've seen so let me say Welcome.and also thanks for sharing your pic's with us

Cool pictures. We were in Wales a couple of years ago and stayed in Abergavenny. That was as far into Wales as time would permit. I really loved how hilly and peaceful the land seemed. I so wanted to keep going more north and west but time ran out on our vacation. :(
Its a lovely place and I'm sure we will return to explore it more in the future.

I'm in the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire; well, on a hillside overlooking it anyway.

I grew up around Manchester and, as a result, hate cities and crowded places!

I've spent months mooching around Scotland but for some reason, tended to overlook Wales even though it's closer. Wales seems to pack more in a smaller space and I really need to get out there more.

Whereabouts were you?

great pics mate... that looks like a gorgeous area... i have yet to get to england..:o
