Out for a hike yesterday.

Looks like a really great trip. Great job on the snowshoes. It would have never crossed my mine to use bamboo for snowshoes. Then again, I only ever saw the stuff in tropical climates. Looked like an effective design.
 
Jay, those snow shoes turned out really great. We'll have to come up with more bamboo projects to try out. Maybe an overnighter one day in the future using a strictly-bamboo shelter (and shittons of booze and fire).

thanks, dennis. a lot of the bamboos stayed green too! i'm guessing it's their deep roots that enable them to survive.

thanks. weaving baskets out of bamboos in shop class when i was a kid that gave me the idea for snow shoes.
