Out my bedroom window at daybreak

Great pics Jill. One of these days I've got to take a trip back east. These are from a while back, but the pics were taken off our back deck.

I think it partly depends upon hunting pressure. I was hunting an area in which no doe tags were issued and about a half dozen does would almost contemptuously walk through my camp every evening.:o

Fortunately for me, one afternoon I came upon the group of mulie does about a mile from camp and a young buck had decided that if all the gals were hanging out there, it must be a great place. He won't be passing on those "unwary" genes.

Thank you.:)
Is it true that mule deer aren't as wary as whitetails?

These deer around our house are so use to people, they will usually let us get within about 20 - 25 feet.
I archery hunt and am usually around a lot of deer over the course of the season, and it really seems to vary. Some seem to be more curious than others, While others don't want to be anywhere close to people.

i'm not as crazy about opening day of season as i used to be. 1 nov. here in tex.ducks deer quail & deer all open same day. the only bucks i shoot are the ones we think have bad genes.i like the does to eat. among other cuts we get alot done into break. sausage & hamburger.jill you have a great place, we do'nt have one chestnut in all of tex. i understand they are trying to make a hybrid of chest. blight res.to repopulate this majestic tree.tks. for the oics.

If you get up on Mule deer they tend to run a ways and stop and look back; that is when many of them get nailed. Have hunted for many, many years but, for deer Mulies; for a long time there were not Whitetails where I was living but they have moved into many areas now. Yes, they are a lot spookier than Mule deer; I really don't hunt deer anymore usually go out elk hunting though. Like Jill I have deer in my yard on a regular basis, mostly mulies but in the last three or so years Whitetails started coming in. Was picking apples the other day and a 4x4 Mulie came down and was observing; started throwing apples at him; when I would hit him he would shrug it off and go eat the apples.

Great pictures Jill.
