Out of commission for a "bit"(I hope)

Really glad to hear you are on the mend.
Darcy:)

Well, I guess I wont be going to your place for a bit... I was going to bring up some W2 as well..

I'm going home today... in a wheelchair, temporarily:(... But I'm goin' home!

Esav... The nurses are of fantasy quality, here. There are no supportive pics, I'm afraid.

Freak... Come down anytime bud(well... Maybe give it a week or two)

Good news!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes going home is the very best thing that can possibly happen to a person.

Glad to hear you're on the mend and going home. I had a bout of bursitis in my left knee five years ago. I managed to get it under control before the infection got out of hand.
That was the most intense pain I've ever experienced in my life.

Rick

If I can do anything to help or give you any information (I'm an orthopedic surgeon) please feel free to PM of email me. Feel better

Damn Rick. So sorry to hear about this. I was surprised I hadn't seen you posting more since Blade, and just stumbled upon this thread today. Really hope everything is still on a positive slope towards recovery. Definitely have you in my thoughts.

Hey Rick, I just came across this thread today too. Sorry to hear about your trouble. Glad you're on the mend (it doesn't always work that way).

How in the hell did you get a bacterial blood infection? That's pretty serious.

Look, I TOLD him not to turn tricks at the Goodwill dumpster, but he's headstrong...

Heheh

Just found this thread, too. Dumbass. Next time don't wait so long before you get it looked at.

...btw, I totally do the same thing.

Hope you're doing okay, bud.

I went back to see the orthopaedic surgeon, yesterday. He seemed happy with my progress but had reservations as to whether or not the knee problems will persist. He feels the bursa sack might have to be removed. I am still on heavy antibiotics for the next week. After that, we'll see what happens.

Dude! Get a peg leg!!

How awesome would that be!! I'll buy you a parrot.

Is it a staph infection, or something else? They can be really nasty, but I'm pretty sure you've figured that out...

Don't rush it. I know everyone's saying that. DON'T RUSH IT. You gotta stay down for a bit, or the return will be nastier. Guy I know almost tapped out after battling MRSA when he didn't follow doctor's orders and tried to return to his triathlon training too soon...

Just noticed this thread. Rick, we have not met but I have enjoyed your writings in this forum for over a year now. Glad to hear you are making progress and getting over this man. sending some positive thoughts your way.

Godspeed, Rick. I had the same thing from an itty bitty piece of steel in my finger. just ignored it, like I am sure most people do. Until 2 days later, when I was in your shape.

You will heal fast. Follow directions... don't stress. it helps the immune system.
take care,
kc

Just saw this as well, Rick. Praying for you, and that everything is on track to getting better!
