spoke to Robert tonight. His computer is on the mend. He asked that I put up his mailing address and e-mail. The book is 25.00 which includes S&H. He updates it as he finds info needing changing.

Maybe if a guy wants one he better get one before the price goes up!:D

I thought about getting that book once upon a time, then figured Larry's website and this forum probably covered most of the same ground.

No, not exactly. Robert's book has a unique format that makes it an excellent quick reference. I keep my own treasured copy in a small binder along with the Schrade Catalog E and Suppliments, right next to my computer. Larry's Collectors-of-schrades-r.us site, this forum, and those two books make a good start on a collector's reference library. I'd really hate to be without any of them. In fact, I just ordered my latest edition copy from Robert (before they went to over $200 each! :D ). He has made quite a few updates since the first edition.

What a hoot !!

The fellow who paid somewhat excessively (IMHO) for this copy didn't even get a CD it appears.

He's the same person who 'busted my chops' a year and a half (or two) ago about my asking price for some Schrade IXL knives. Tried to tell me that he knew the values and I didn't !!!!

I was tempted to e mail him and let him know just how rare his copy is!
(The only one that someone paid over $200,00 for!!)

I'd probably enjoy having one then. How far back does the book go? 40's, 50's, 60's?

Justice is served Del. Sometimes what goes around comes around doesn't it?

Robert Clemente's book is just as the title suggests, A Catalog History of Schrade Knives (Uncle Henry & Old Timer). It is a compilation of information and research taken from published catalogs covering the UH and OT lines. That would be basically from 1959-2004.

Ha ha! The winner, Greymenace, I have lost alot of auctions to him over the years. The guy has no problem dropping coin on stuff.

I emailed him last year or something, and invited him over to sit in with us here. I figure with all the great pieces he had, he would have alot to talk about. Never got a response from him. Is he a dealer?

If only he had come over, he might have saved a few bucks.

BTW, my copy is '0031', and autographed...:D

Mine is a later serial, but has the autograph, and a great 32 word personal inscription! Gotta be worth a grand easy!

This is the real mcCoy...er...Clemente deal. Includes the CD. Maybe Grayman will attempt to corner the market!:D

G'Day Codger,Mine is #1070 and personally signed "to my Aussie knife friend, stay sharp and keep on the edge" updated with CD, August 2006.......seee I do have at least one friend!
Why dont people just order direct from Robert like I did. Most obliging and friendly man, keenly priced, and the catalog and CD photos still extremely relevant. Hoo Roo

Excellent points Larry. But not every knife guy visits our forum and gets the latest news on resources. If they did, everyone would have a copy of the book and no one would pay two-hundred clams for one. And you have more than one friend. Don't pull that Rodney Dangerfield act on me! :D
