Out of this world !!!

I told you he was gonna sell on e-bay...
The seller is his family..

No, it was a knife bought by Schrade (one or two dozen likely) as a marketing exploration. It is not a fillet, but actually a kitchen boning knife. Note the grind. The marking is "Stainless" and "Taiwan". I bought it as a kitchen work knife. Trying to spare my 146, 147, and 246OT from being drafted. I bought a 147 a while back and shortened the blade to the 146 length for the kitchen also.

PS- I talked with Robert and knew what I was getting.

Ahh, I see said the blind man. You can't beat those Safe-T-Grip handles.
Good find!!
Thanks Rick

I didn't like the Safe-T-Grip knives when I recieved a pair of them as a gift some years back, and they sat unused. I now have a complete set in a display and another set as users. The wife snatched my 147 when I upgraded the one in the display from used to mint. Then I bought some factory returned broken knives and fixed a shorter 146 which she took over. Then one of my 141's. And a 140...and... well, we both have user sets now and I have the only mint set in the house. Someone will die if....:D

Don't forget the orange, blue, burgundy and black handles when you build a set.

Friends, the author markets these directly himself at a much more reasonable price. I just received my own update copy of the book.

And the knife previously mentioned. It is indeed a curiosity. The handle is thermoplastic rubber like the Imperial Schrade Safe-T-Grip series, though comolded and from a different mold with smoother texture on the differently contoured handle. There is, as I was told a small "Stainless Taiwan" stamp on blade right tang. But on blade left is the Imperial text stamp with the cutler and hammer logo. So it does look to be more than an open market purchase by ISC. Also quite unexpectedly, the 5 1/2" blade has "micro-serrations" along a waved edge. The blade has some flex, but not as much as a fillet knife should have, IMHO. Can't wait to try it out!

Just sent for my update to Roberts book also, nice to see the book make a good price especially coming from the source so to speak, during the week I succummed to purchasing for what I thought was a little over price, a copy of the Schrade knives and suppliment reprint which was published by A.G Russell. $40.00 Mint, had been looking for some time, Oh well, It will come in useful.

Michael, looks like the knife will go well with your other fillet knives.
