OUTDOOR BOOKCLUB - Mors Kochanski's Bushcraft

Great trailer AIG (love the music! Is it from some old school US show?)

I'm glad to hear it was a great course and you made it back safe....to share your videos ;)
I hope you didn't get into a few drinks with Mors.....he knows how to sup!

I'll enjoy seeing the course unfold.

Thank you

Pretty cool videos.
I thought about making a set of snow shoes to try out but I never have...Maybe sometime this year.

It's coming. Next up - how to build a Roycroft pack frame, set it up and use it. This thing does some pretty amazing things and has very little fuss about it. Love it!

Here is the famous Rocroft pack frame. They are SO simple to make and you can haul an enormous amount of gear with them. This is seriously worth trying. It is actually easier to make than the blanket pack, which has been one of my favorites.

Great stuff!! Did you see the Karamat vid on this from a few days back too??

Together I think they have a lot of info.

I love the tip with the nail! I've carried a few penny nails in my kit for a while now, I think it was Ellsworth Jaegar that prompted me.
This is a MUST try for me....I have a nifty shoulder strap idea too.

Good stuff. I do find the use of nails interesting. I watched the buck saw video and seen them put nails to use again. I've watched many how too videos on buck saws and I must say this was the first time I seen anyone use them.

I've heard there are companies making belts with saw blades in them. I think this is an outstanding idea. What happens when you have the blade and no saw to mount it on? Never fear!

This is one of the shelters I learned about at the Kochanski course. It weighs less than 3 pounds, is inexpensive and will keep you warm on even the coldest day.

Neglect a sewing kit at your own peril.
