UPS just dropped off my Outdoor Edge Axe-it. I was orderingsome other knives ;) when I saw the axe-it in the catalog. The price is good and I have liked previous outdoor Edge products, so I figured I would order one as well.

The head is hot drop forged 1040.
The handle has a non slip kraton grip and unbreakable fiberglass core.
It came with a cordura belt sheath.
Weight is 1 3/4 lbs with an overall length of 11 3/4"

Seems to be a decent design. Does anyone else have any experience with them?

5+ years and no replys? Am I the only one that ever got one of these?

I think they only made 1.

You ALMOST made me spit my Schlafly Coffee Stout all over my screen- That's just priceless man!

:D:D

I once walked near 40 blocks to get to their pub... only to find out they aren't open on Sundays! STL was a little scary at 9:30.

I'm flying into MO on Monday for 2 weeks, looking forward to some local brews!

Good news- They're open on Sundays now! You must have been really thirsty after that walk too- bummer!

That has got to be some kind of record.

Well... Nice purchase...

Do you even have it anymore ?

I noticed these Outdoor Edge hatchets in the latest "Russell's Hunting and Shooting Catalog".
Looks interesting but thats kind-of a heavy head (1.75 pounds) for such a short handle.
I have 1.75 pound hatchet with a 13 inch and i find the balance on that a little off.
And the Outdoor Edge has an even shorter 11.75 inch handle.
personally my Wetterlings (13 inch handle with 1.25 pound head) and my old Norlund (11.75 inch handle 17 ounce head) feel better to me.
