Received this yesterday. My first impression was "Gawd, this is a big knife". Keep in mind that I've been carrying a Gigand Titan for a couple of weeks. The size of the Magna was a surprise. (I know, I know, it's a 4" blade and all that, but it's just....big) Hence the name, I suppose. It seems very substantial in all ways, a big blade of AUS 8A and, regardless of its size, a very comfortable grip/handle. The clip is well-shaped and placed not to interfere with said grip. The lock looks and feels really strong as well. Construction quality seems excellent. I don't have large hands- tip of thumb to tip of little finger is 8 3/4" or so and this knife (5 3/8" closed) protrudes from both sides of my closed fist (making it a less lethal weapon if, God forbid, I should ever need it). There seems to be some sort of ball detent holding it closed and, frankly, I haven't found the best one-hand opening grip yet. Very sharp out of the box, I look forward to using it more, after I have all my shirt pockets reinforced. A heckuva knife for well under $50 (shipped). By the way, did I mention how BIG this thing is?
