Not the first thread on this subject, but I'm unable to find older ones with the search function, so I'll start a new one.

Modern, reasonable good to very good (and entertaining) movies with a decent amount of outdoor/camping/survival related content.

I'll name a few

Into The Wild (2007)
The Snow Walker (2003)
The Hunted (2003)
The Edge (1997)
Touching the Void (need to see this one)
Cast Away (2000)
The Road (2009) (to be released)

Any more that I missed?

Ted

Well, there were a few scenes with the Aborigines in Quigley Down Under. Not a survival movie but as the owner of a 34" barrel Shiloh Sharps Long Range Express, I just had to mention it!

The movie Inferno, 1953, with Robert Ryan. Ryan plays a wealthy businessman with a broken leg left in the Death Valley desert to die by his wife and her boyfriend she'd been cheating on Ryan with. Ryan has a pocket knife and a few items, and survives to crawl and drag himself along. Great desert survival movie. Ryan does his usually exellent perfomance.

RESCUE DAWN with Christian Bale (2006 or '07?).

Vietnam War-era story of a downed fighter pilot in captivity by the VC, survival and evasion.
