Recommendation? Outdoor test: In a humid environment, which kind of steel really doesn't rust?

Magnacut has a 9.5 out of 10 for corrosion resistance. AEB-L a 7 out of 10. I anticipate no problems. I will wash off after cutting fruit and apply mineral oil. I am not around salt water but would not be afraid to be. Stainless steels have come a long way.

living in FL, both Miami and the north central area, I have yet to experience blade rust on any of my knives. I use them hard, afield and at home, but care for them, wiping them down after use and keeping them clean and oiled. Zero issues.

I use a CPK FK3 in Magnacut as my scuba/freedive dive knife. I'm in the ocean a minimum of four hours per week with this knife and don't have a single spot of rust anywhere on it. I also use it constantly in the kitchen, where there have been a few times I've left it overnight completely dirty and covered in blood/salt after a steak. No spots or stains or patina to speak of.

There have also been a good handful of occasions where I haven't been able to rinse my knife off with fresh water and clean it till several hours after getting out of the ocean. In the 2nd worst case about six hours. In the worst case I forgot about it and left it in my wet dive bag overnight. I pulled it out close to twenty hours after the dive. Where the knife and the kydex sheath were still covered in drops of salt water everywhere. Still nothing after all that, Magnacut is great.

I had an Elmax knife that quickly developed close to a hundred severe surface rust spots all over the blade in under fifteen minutes of it being in the ocean. I was literally able to witness it happening with my eyes in real time.
