Outdoors Loaner Knives ?

Don't loan knives, axes or other cutting tools. People who don't have them invariably don't know how to use them safely or properly. It's like handing the keys to your Lear Jet to a toddler who just got off a tricycle.

Then maybe a give them a Mora and a copy of the "How to use a knife" section of the Boyscout manual.
:D

I don't have enough room in my pockets to carry loaner knives. Either I cut it for them, or if I plan ahead I'll bring a loaner Mora.

I loan an sak outrider out when I need to, tend to avoid loaning anything other than a kitchen knife out otherwise.

There's one guy I've done some jobs with, after the 6th time in one day he borrowed a knife I went and found some decent - not fantastic, but decent- shcrade locking folders on sale for $5 and bought 10. I've now sold 6 of those at cost to people who borrowed too often.

Thanks everyone for lots of good ideas. - - Think I'll throw some loaners into a box for an upcoming fishing trip. Will include a few Moras (since they are cheap & cut so well. And no problem giving them away.). A Buck 110 or two (given more respect than a Mora by someone who doesn't know knives - as pointed out by Cpl Punishment), and a Gerber fixed blade cheapo that actually cuts pretty well & is easy to sharpen if dinged - some 440 type steel. (Don't recall how I got the Gerber, mighta been thrown out in a box of stuff by a relative.) - -
