Outdoors-magazine.com appears to be no more.
Man this sucks that was a really good site and forum!
Anybody know what happened? Why is it gone?
Will it come back?
Any info please post it here!

someone else had mentioned that it was closing down...:( what a bummer, it was a cool site...

Wow, that really sucks. I was on there looking at results from a GOogle search, musta been in the archives cause I didn't see any notice . Lot's of good info on that site.

There is talk that supposedly edcforums.com is possibly shutting down. That is another gadget / etc forum that also has good reviews and loads of info. :(

That's bad news :thumbdn:

I've only just joined up there in the last couple of weeks and was looking forward to continuing to contribute.

Kind regards
Mick

Hopefully James will shed some insight on the demise of the forum.

I'd like to see all the articles reposted elsewhere.

Yeah it was great i spend more time here but i'd check in there a couple of times a week too. Hopefully it will be resurrected/reborn!

Over on British Blades JM said that it was taking a lot of his time and he decided to close it.

Shame. It was really slow lately. Used to have a fair amount of people posting. Still shame the articles are not up somewhere.

Damn! I used to go there too! A lot of good info shared by a lot of folks from different parts of the globe.

Yeah I liked the articles on there alot, I hope they have them posted somewhere because they were really helpful.

I'm really glad i saved some of their stuff to word files.
I'm a firm believer in "copy and paste" because you never know when a web resource will disappear.
One of the newer outdoors sites ( i can't remember which one) has downloadable pdf versions for each article on its site.
Now thats a good idea!

I figure James won't mind me posting his links to the archives....

Hello friends,

Here is a server where you will find articles from the now defunct outdoors-magazine.com. All are in PDF format, and there are a few books too, including woodcraft and camping from nessmuk, US army survival manuals, OZ police bush survival aid, trapping, bow hunting, etc..... Also some Swedish and some French things.

and a zip containing it all:

And his explanation for the site shutting down.

Hello friends,

Thanks for the concerns. It was time for me to claim back this part of my life (and it was getting largely too much.
I pulled the plug without warning, because I know that any other solution would have kept me involved one way or another. And I am extremely happy about that !

Excellent site and I'm sorry to see it go:( Thanks for the links and the explanations. Perhaps it might be resurrected in one form or another someday.
