Gut and gill a trout or salmon, maybe vent this spring's turkey. a light and slicey blade that I ground from 8670 high carbon steel, a fairly new steel to me that I can purchase in small lots from Pops Knife Supply. l have tested this by breaking a blade after heat treating and tempering to find a fine grain structure about the size of tacum powder. I also chopped a 20 penny nail in half with no damage to the edge. I am comfortable offering knives made from this steel.
Heat treated to Rc 60
Flat grind with a 400 grit belt finish. The blade came out of the tempering oven with a black mill scale which I did not polish out because I liked the look.
Stabilized cherry burl handle with Micarta spacers.
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
SOLD delivered within these United States
Please note that somehow this morning's light made the handle and leather look red, yes, there is some red in both but not as pronounced as in the photos.
