This is the second of a run of my outdoorsman hatchets. My brother ground this one and did the handle under my supervision.
The steel is 1/4″ 1075 steel and was heat treated to a 57- 58 HRC goal. The tang has been spring tempered with a torch.
The overall length is 14″, with a 3″ cutting edge. This one is sporting green canvas micarta handle with nickel silver Corby bolts. This handle is never coming loose! Comes with a leather belt sheath.
This one has a few little scratches from being put in and out of the sheath.
