hey guys. im a pretty young outdoorsman and i have noticed alot of defficencies in my gear. namely i dont have enough warm gear, my boots are worn out, my pack is way to big and my optics are junk! i really need to replace as much of this gear as possible before october - november so that means the knife buying is coming to a hault. i need to pick a nice edc to last for almost a year!.

if you cant already tell i spend a lot of time hunting and fishing. from october 1st to january 1st i am hunting almost every day and from about march to august im fishing as much as possible. i need an edc knife that can do the regular stuff like cut boxes, tape, food, rope, plastic straps etc.... like 99% of us do. but i also use my edc knife as a gutting and skinning knife for deer, duck, turkey and cyotes along with walleye and salmon, cutting open bags of bait, hay bail twine and wrap and a billion other things.
i would prefer a 3.5-4 inch blade with a super steel. a knife with a grippy texture such as g10, an amazing slicer, a knife that is thin and not very wide. i would prefer to forget about it in my pocket. i would like it to be very water and weather resistant. under 5 ounces is preferred and made in the usa is a must! it need to be under $200.
so far i have found the benchmade 710 with m390 steel and the spyderco military. im favoring the 710 a little bit because it is not as wide and has a shorter handle along with the m390 steel. so i think it would be more comfortable to carry. in the past i have had troubles with the axis locks and the omega springs and i dont know how it will work with gloves. however i love spyderco and i cant get enough of the spidie hole because i wear gloves so darn often. that big handle often helps with gloves. i also like spyderco as a company a heck of alot more then benchmade but i will buy the better knife for those tasks.
so is it the benchmade 710 with m390 vs a plain jane military or your possible choice. please help me out because i gotta live with this for a long time!
sincerely,
bryan
