OUTFITTERS KNIVES Part One – Eucalyptus and Gum Burls (the two on the right)

OFKGroupPic.jpg

Group Shot of all four knives available in both threads

One of the outfitters that I provide hunting knives for each hunting season ordered 12 pieces in June. This week, right before I shipped them, he called saying that due to a drop in reservations at his hunting camp this season, he’ll only need 8 (he had to lay off 4 guides). So his loss is your gain. Call it an overstock sale. I’m posting two threads here since we’re limited to the number of pictures per thread. Please look at both threads if you’re interested.

SPECS:

All of my Outfitter Knives are approximately 9” OAL; with 4 to 4 ½” flat ground blades with satin finish; 58-59RC; Stabilized burl handles; full tang construction (not tapered except for the Ironwood knife) for a no fuss, no muss, exceptional hunting tool. The three knives made with 1095 high carbon steel are differentially heat treated for superior edge holding with a springy back. All knives were triple tempered. Each comes with a fitted 6-7oz. premium leather sheath by maker; hand sewn with linen thread and coated with Acrylic Resoline for water resistance. All sheaths are a dark brown with “natural” colored thread (per his request to match his tack) and a silver belt clip. See profile pictures for specifics.

And....again, thanks Joe!

FYI - These are $275 full blown, ready for the wilderness, hunting knives that I discounted by the deposit lost by the outfitter (less 30%).

The Gum Burl arrived today, safe and sound and perfectly packaged. Thank you, Wayne for an absolutely stunning piece of art. The knife and the sheath are perfect in form, fit and function according to my definition of what a hunter should be. I just wanted to let you know in public that I hold your knife making and leather working skills in highest regard.
