I am getting ready to purchase a grinder! The outlaw 2 is my first choice. Has anybody ever used one? Talked with the owner Matt, he said he was making one more run of the grinders and was selling his grinder business. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Looks like a nice grinder but aren't you a bit leery of a company that's going to "make one more run and sell the business"?
There are great grinders for that kind of money (and less) that are committed to being around.
My money's going some place else.

Agreed.

Might be a nice design, but I already know what it's like to have a machine with no tech support - despite that company not exiting the field. Never again.

There's too many better options available. Unless it's being given away, there's no reason to get one...

looking at the grinders popping up nlately, they all seem to be about the same, have the same features, same basic frame shape, same attachments. pretty much kmg clones upgraded. it makes sense the customer service should be the determining factor when choosing.

Well thank you for your thoughts on the subject! I have seen the outlaw 2 and looks pretty functional however I never have heard of anybody that has owned one. Thanks again.

I am indeed. However, it is a grinder not a space shuttle. It just seems to be a very smooth machine. The way it flips, small footprint, comes standard with a 6inch drive wheel. Notches for changing belts and things of that nature. Not to mention three or four idler wheel adjustments. Should have ask before i sent the money. Thank you sir for your time.

Looks like a really nice machine, though for the price point, I'd strongly consider a Northridge, or maybe even a TW-90. That said, it sounds like you already have it bought and paid for, so in that case, I say grind on!

Looks like a nice machine, but for that kind of money I would just get a TW-90, a Wilmont or design my own.

I hope it goes well for you. Post some pics when you get it and let us know what you think.

Very good advice, thank you. I will definitely post pictures. I can't even comprehend no has used one! Blows my tiny mind.

I too would be very leery of buying a grinder by a company being sold. Going through that right now with my leather sewing machine. I've had it for 20 years or so. Great company, great machine. Company has since been sold. New company hard to get a hold of. Don't return calls. Requires multiple calls to get ahold of them. If ya need parts they're never in stock, they have to order parts first then ship them to ya. I would run away from that grinder quickly. Might be saying something if no one here has used one?

Mr. Horsewright,
You are much wiser then myself. I have sent the money for the grinder. Thank you for all the input.

I just got my Northridge a couple of weeks ago. I finished the table for it a few days ago. It is really a work of art. Look very closely at Northridge. George is awesome to deal with.

I spoke with George, I must agree he is a awesome man. I am under the impression that on the northridge grinders he doesn't have any tracking wheel adjustments. Thanks for the imput.

I know several makers that have Outlaw grinders, and have met Matt a couple of times. He makes a very good machine, and you should have no regrets in that regard. He also runs a waterjet company that does alot of oilfield business. He makes bit and spur stuff, and knives. I can't say about future service, but he's a straight up guy best I can tell.

I don't think you'll have any issues with your new grinder - it's a very well thought-out and built machine. I, like many others it seems, just get a little itchy when the guy selling something says he wants out.
I had the chance to see it at Blade Show last year. I didn't feel it was as nice as the TW90 or Northridge, but it's not fair to pass judgement on subtle details at a trade show setup, I don't think. Hardly a good environment to demonstrate stuff in. At least, there weren't any obvious issues with it, as there were on most of the other grinders I've seen out there.

You've mentioned this 'tracking wheel adjustment' feature... am I missing something? I don't see that this grinder has anything any different for tracking adjustment than a tracking wheel. They all have this, with the exception of the TW90, which tilts the drive wheel (superb idea, btw).

Cool! Thats what I like to hear. Thank you sir.

Grinders are pretty simple machines. Once set up, the most that goes wrong is usually a bad bearing, which can be sourced multiple places. Other that that, motors or vfd's are plug and play if you stick to the spec.

I am not intelligent enough to explain it to you. I talked with george at Northridge about
