I don't want to use the oven inside the kitchen, so what small type oven can be used to heat up at 400degrees to harden blades. Convection maybe?, tell me what you gents use that I can buy at local store or flea market. Rey

I know alot of makers use a toaster oven. They can be had for under $30 at walmart or walgreens.

I highly recommend you do some reading on heat-treating, Reynaldo.

400 degrees is a "typical" TEMPERING temperature for simple carbon steels. It is nowhere near hot enough to HARDEN a blade. You're going to need a heat-source that will achieve 1400+ F.

:)

Good luck

What Nick said. Say Nick, you ever happen to snap those photos we talked about a while back? :o With limited shop time, anything I can do to speed up production will be good for me. Still no pressure, bud. Just checking. :p
