Yes the prices have certainly shot up ... try and get one at a show direct from Busse if possible ... I had the chance for a Satin Snakeskin 1 of 13 at Knob Creek in the Fall of 2008 I think ... I heard one was going on another auction site for more than twice the show cost ...

Other knives on the X-change however are finding it hard to keep their original cost ....

Yes, stripped her and then polished the blade on a belt sander to fully convex the edge and thin it down and then bead blasted the knife for a DCBB finish.

That is a beautiful blade, Peter. I'm sure it's especially satisfying to use a blade to which you have added such an exquisite "personal touch". Congratulations!

Many thanks Will ... coming from yourself and the amazing collection you have that is particularly appreciated ... my NMFBM and my Basic 9 for extreme cold conditions are my two most cherished "Busse's" ...

The NMFBM goes through wood, metal, the lot ... without a flinch or murmour ...

Took this old Blackberry enclosure down and cleared the brambles easily in an afternoon...and it was easy to restore the edge with a few minutes stropping ...

The NMFBM for irresistable force and the B9 for lightweight speed, without sacrificing durability, have to be among Busse's crowning achievements. I don't consider myself a collector but I do seem to go through a lot of knives searching for those few rare designs that are unsurpassed in my experience, given their anticipated scope of work. The NMFBM and B9 both hit the mark for me.

prices go along with the demand, if you have never held one, then you just don't know. This is a great blade and reason for the high price is cause nobody that has one really wants to part with them. One of those blades you need to hold to understand! I love them.

I feel like I need to have one just to see. I've only got a ffbm so I don't have one to compare it to. I must resist!

why resist? just get one, worse come to worse, you hate it and sell it to get your money back :)
just so you know, that won't happen, lol.

Thanks for the Imfo bro your probably right. I have one I may part with so I can pick one up. You guys are right you don't see them come up for sale too often.
That kind of tells me something.

Honestly, buy one and if you don't like it you'll hardly lose any money on it, if any at all.

The only thing it wouldn't do better than the FFBM is pry open vault doors. That's not even knocking the FFBM, cus it's a great knife too.
