Thanks all for your help on my "bubbles" problem. You were right, over-heating was the problem. I was cheap and using an old belt on my grinder. I finally got the "burnt" yellow micarta all hand sanded off. Whew

I designed the knife for defensive, light carry. Blade is 4 1/8", over-all 8 3/4". Now to design a sheath for the knife. Any suggestions?

Kydex, small of back IWB carry with a G-clip so you can carry it in sweats or sans belt. That's the standard sheath I use with anything in the 5-8" OAL range and it is the best for me. Comfy, low-profile and hides well under clothes. On really small knives I love horizontal belt carry. If you want, I could do the sheath for you in exchange for a similar blade (you wouldn't even have to finish or heat treat it...I could do that myself if it is 1084, 1095, or O-1).
