Sometimes, things just happen to work out. My wife and kids were out of town, so I was going to use the weekend to head up to our cabin, do a few things, and get it ready for the whole family to go. I never planned on spending the whole time working, and was going to spend Saturday night in the woods.

My place is not very far from were Ben lives. Last minute, it worked out that he was free and we decided to meet up. I don’t know if it is going to work out or not, but Ben is trying to work out things with TenTipi in order to be able to sell them here in the States. Since he wanted to see what he would be getting into, he wanted to check mine out. We figured the best way to do that was just to sleep in it.

So, this is pretty much car camping. But, we had a really nice, remote location.

My wife took our still camera out of town. This video camera is new, and I had no idea what the battery life was like. I wasn’t going to take it in the canoe with us anyway, but I did miss quite a bit of stuff that we did. As it turns out, getting stuff like “a hike” on video is tough. If anyone has any tips or pointers on that, I would appreciate it.

The stuff that we got to do, not shown in the video include:

- Paddling the canoe around the lake
- Catching a few smaller pike
- Wandering around the woods on the other side of the lake
- A decent distance hike the next morning. We both wore “overnight” packs with all the gear we needed, just to carry the weight.
- The place was littered with wintergreen fields. I ate a good amount of berries myself :)

That is about all. I hope you like the video. If you have any video tips for the woods, I would appreciate them!

Looks like you had a good time. Thanks for sharing.

I was going to say that you should have checked the wind direction before setting up camp but with the fire inside the tent I guess it does not matter.

Where is you S&N axe like the two I bought from you? Maybe too small for this trip. I still like mine.

That was a cool short trip Brian, thanks for sharing, it left me wishing you had filmed the rest of your activities.

Looks good to me Brian! I love that you shot it and rendered it in HQ. I find it so much more enjoyable watching trip vids in HQ even though that takes significantly more uploading time for the author. Sometimes on trip videos its sort of hard to find the story other then the sequence it happened in. I guess the only thing I'd add is to put a little voice work into your video...Not to overwhelm the viewer with chatter, but a little comment here and there explaining what you are looking at with a bit of emotion in your voice can really add to it. But then again, I tend to talk too much in my videos. Looks like a great time. Wish I could have made it with you on the weekend.

Great stuff Bryan, thanks for taking the time to share this buddy !

I still have mine and use it regularly. But, we were camping next to our vehicles, and weight and size was not an issue. So, I brought a big one. The Bahco is Ben's.

Thanks for the feedback Ken! I hear you....
