Overbuilt folder vs. FB

My question is do to curiosity not need. I am quite well served by the folders that I carry. I use them for cutting things and do not expect them to serve as entry tools or prybars. I am just trying to get a handle on the actual advantages of these super tough folders. My first quality folder was a SOG tomcat (overbuilt original?) and I like the idea of this type of knife but I couldn't really figure on a good reason for them from a performance point of view. All that said, I would really like a Hinderer;-)>

here's why I like an overbuilt folder: in a real jam, a car wreck or whatever, it would be important to have a knife that is hard use and that can be used to pry without breaking at the time. It's okay if it needs repair afterwards but it should be able to handle it in event of such a situation. Just in case, in other words.
