I really like overbuilt folders, but the ZT, hinderer, strider ones are all too expensive for me.

-Blade under 3.5"
-manual
Do you know any good ones under 200?

dps hest folder. he has lots of colors

emerson cqc 15 / cqc 7 large etc.

lion steel sr1 al also in lots of colors

You can get a ZT550 for well under $200, and the Spyderco Gayle Bradley for a little over $100.

Buck Tops/CSAR-T Knife. ATS34 with a BOS heat treat and Buck lifetime warranty. Ontario Retribution 1. And as slg98 said, ZT's from Kershawguy. I am sure more knowledgeable persons than myself will chime in soon.

I agree. I have both of these and would highly reco either one. They are long-proven by MANY happy owners. Both are 3.5", IIRC.

The zt 0350 is well under 200. 3.25 blade, somewhat compact but very sturdy.

For the money a kershaw Junk Yard Dog 2.2 is a really overbuilt folder. Last I checked Kershawguy.com had blems in stock.

Manual flipper and under $60 shipped IIRC.

ZT0550 has already been mentioned. The Spyderco SuperLeaf is discontinued, but they're not especially difficult to find. If you're open to assisted-openers, the ZT 0300 blems can be had for under $200, and they sometimes show up on the exchange for under that as well. Kershawguy has the 0560 blem right now for under $200 too.

Spyderco tuff. Took me a while to warm up to it, but I much prefer it to my zt 0561. Street price under 200.

Like others have mentioned for a 3.5" either Spyderco Gayle Bradley or Zero Tolerance 0550. GB is a tough all week cutter. 0550 is overbuilt with thicker blade. DPx HEST/F 2.0 is an even thicker blade but blade length is only 3.15". All under $200.

Benchmade Adamas, Spyderco Tuff, Zero Tolerance 0200 and LionSteel SR-1 AL are all over 3.5" for blade length.

The ZT 0200, and the BM 275 Adamas are nice over built folders. They can be found for under a buck-fifty, and have a degree of refinement. That refinement is well worth their cost imo. If you wish to fore go the added cost of refinement and pay simply for raw bulk, the Schrade 300 series can be had for roughly 1/5 the price of the 0200 or 275. I have all three knives and enjoy working with all of them. I was satisfied with the Schrade 302 enough that I bought a 304. I don't think
I could wear out the 302, but the price was nominal enough to justify acquiring both blade designs.

I some how over looked the part where you very clearly stated that the knife be under 3.5 inches. In my medicated fog I mistook it for over 3.5 inches.

No expert but I'd have to encourage a look at a Spyderco Chinook. I have the original version in CPM440v and cannot imagine what you'd have to do to stop this thing. I'm sure someone around here could tell you, though. :)
