Overkill

Agree with TKAZ, but as I get older, I carry less and less knife. I might even go to a small slippie soon.

I carry my CQC 10 often with a backup, sheeple friendly blade like my caly 3 or my Salt 1. Overkill?...naw i feel under prepared compared to most of the people on here. I will eventually, hopefully move out of Maryland(Cali-East) and then i will get a small pistol to carry too...till then my CQC or my JYD 2 Comp will have todo.

Totally overkill on my end. I could easily get by with the smallest Victorinox on the market (which I do carry on my key ring), but I almost always carry a large Sebenza or an Al Mar Sere 2000.

Today this Sage II

I thought it would be overkill and I usually carry smaller knives but I went down a path that a ton of vines had grown over and I got to do a lot of vine hacking. It was great.

Used to EDC a BM Rukus until it started falling apart, thanks to BM's QC.

Been carrying a ZT 0301 lately, though looking at almost 1" of handle sticking out of the pocket, I'm going to have to mod the clip or pick something else eventually.

When I first got into collecting knives. I thought that you'd be foolish to buy a smaller knife when you get SO much knife for the money for just a few bucks more usually. THEN.... I got tired of the bulk in my pockets, and just not having fine control, so I went to knives around 3" and I've never been happier.
Most knives that we all carry could be considered overkill, but when you're paying as much as we do for quality, it better be built to last a long time or we'd all get better knives. :D

I have some large bowies in the 8inch to 12 inch category that are well beyond what I need for actual carry.

I only carry one knife, but my dad always says they're big enough to skin an elk with. I don't carry big knives for the blade length, but for the handle size, but big handles usually come with big blades. I could probably get by with 2-2.5" blade but there are few knives that small that I like the way the grip feels.

I've always carried more knife than I need - so far, that is...

One never knows, does one?

i carry two an urban pal and a recon 1. the glock 22 and full extra mag takes up the extra weight allowance so I can't carry more.

Today only one knife for me, a Rukus, maybe to big for my need but I like it !

I plan on wearing my new Cold Steel Recon Scout around a camp site. Hardly wilderness. But baby steps. Best learn what works in relative safety than be stuck with something that doesn't work when you most need it.

My only overkill knife at the moment is my Benchmade LFK, 5.2 inch blade great knife, never had too much problem opening it in public, but have had a few talks with police. Completely legal in texas (5.5 maximum) Will be buying a new one next month (Found some regular non serrated versions for 80)

my edc varies, but i mostly stay in the 3-31/2 inch range. right now my edc is an older AFCK, and i love it. i always carry a neck knife also. it comes out quickly.
