Overnight hike

Nice post man. I know what you mean about the snow. By early spring when we were in Michigan, I was tired of the spots of knee deep snow. Looks like beautiful territory. One day I want to go hiking in BC, maybe in later summer.

Where I grew up we had mostly white-tails, but on occasion a muley-hybrid. They seemed to understand when it was danger season, and while they would take off if you were moving in the off season, if you were still or contained to a location, they'd often come out and be pretty calm, especially if you were in a familiar pattern, for example I had to pump water every afternoon, and it usually happened about the same time of day, so the deer didn't care. Drive into that area off that time, and they'd bounce.

Great location there! looked like a good time. Just spent two days on the water doing some kayak training, and staying out at a campsite. Not the same, the campsite is accessible by 4x4, so its pretty trashed up, and while there we have to follow LNT even though no one else does. Didn't pack in firewood, so no campfire this time.. would have helped with the bugs.

Yeah that's about how they are. I think each generation gets a bit more used to us. Same w bears. Didn't see any bear signs. Did see lots of elk sign and of course the deer signs:) Kayaking sounds good. I've got a canoe that's been gathering dust for too long.

Great overnighter!
Awesome to have an animal encounter like that, love it.
I'm usually to late for pictures when something like that happens.

That german pointer is one great looking dog! have a wirehair myself, he's nuts :)
Nice to see he's carying his own stuff.

He's a great dog. I don't think he notices the bags much. I just put his food in them but he coulda carried a lot more. He's 10 years old but you wouldn't think so.
