Overseas manufacturing???

There are lots of issues related to the global and national economies, but there is no favorable future scenario for the US that does not include a well-educated workforce.

True, especially where innovative technologies are concerned. Often overlooked but just as important is work ethic, and personal responsibility. Those that have it should rightly be rewarded. Those that lack it should not be protected.

We have a class warfare in this country with money being taken away from taxpayers , earners and innovators being given to organizations that shield and protect the underachievers while enriching these types in return for votes and political power. In other words, corruption.

Just putting out better educated employees isn't close to being the complete answer to America's problems. Creating an incentive to innovate and work hard instead of a hostile environment towards "the rich" to stir up votes is vital to our survival as an economic and military power.

Yes, lots of problems to solve.

BTW, I'm faaaar from rich. Real far.

I agree, I have seen jobs that the Corporation wanted a 4 year degree or better and a 14 year old could be trained to do that same job in a week. Just having a degree doesn't really mean they will be a better employee than someone without one. There is much more to doing a job that they just can't be taught, common since is one of them, work ethics is another. I have trained College Educated people that were dumber than a brick and I mean freaking stupid so they just never got it at all. Education really isn't the cure all for everything or the problems. What people seem to overlook is that once you are out of College and start a job you have to learn their way and or are trained.

Now I am not talking about the Doctor, Lawyer, Scientist, engineer, and some other jobs that require high levels of education beyond a 4 year degree.

Yeah, the politicians aren't going to jump on the "let's clean up corruption" bandwagon any time soon.

The idea that, instead, Sal's hobby is somehow dragging down the US economy and the cause of ALL our problems would be kinda funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
