Some of you may be familiar with Charles Ochs, MS. he has been forging blades for years and also is the guy who put the "black knife" automatic on the map. He had been making his "special ops bowie" fighter for years for the Air Force and Army special ops guys here in Florida and a few years back, one of the senior officers asked him if he could come up with amore affordable knife for the troops. This is the result, the laser cut combat bowie. This is an original 7 inch version that I bought from Mr Ochs a few years back when they first came out. The blade is 1/4 inch O1 and has the same grind as his forged fighters. The handle scales are G10 and it comes with a very sturdy standard Ox Forge sheath. The 5 1/2 version of this knife is selling for as much as $425 on dealer websites. The knife had not been used. The "rustic" finish is standard on these knives. SOLD

Hello, so this isn't forged, it is just ground and heat treated? By Ochs though right? thanks

That is correct. The market had pushed the cost of one of his hidden tang forged 52100 fighters to the point where the average trooper couldn't afford it anymore. IIRC, these sold in the mid to upper $300 range when they first came out. I would guess it would be around $450-475 today as the smaller version sells for $425 on artknives.com I don't know what the bigger ones sell for because all of those that the site had listed are sold. The forged versions were selling for like $775 through the dealers in 2011.
