  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I've looked at a lot of online stores that sell Ox-Head Iltis Axes but could never find an official website. I finally found the official website and I thought you guys might appreciate this info as well. Ox-Head Iltis is actually a Premium-Segment brand of the GEDORE Group of Germany (http://www.gedore.de).

Here's a link to all their forestry and carpentry tools: http://www.gedore.de/en/products/group_overview.html?pm_id=57412&oe_opt[list_set]=28362,57412

The catalog is 8.44 MB so maybe right click and download instead of opening it directly. Here's a link to their catalog: http://www.gedore.de/en/service/downloads.html?download_filename=http://www.gedore.net/module/objproduct_data/5/oed_71960_483_1_0_oed_71960_483_1_0_1957252_Kat_OX_Forest_UK_08_NEU_op.pdf&download_targetname=oed_71960_483_1_0_1957252_Kat_OX_Forest_UK_08_NEU_op.pdf

Enjoy!

cool stuff, thanks for the links. hope to pick on of these bad boys up this spring.

The Oxhead is a BEAST. I'm so used to my GB SFA that felling with the Oxhead took a few trees to get used to again.

I've seen some in some hardware store in Germany. They don't lok as well finished as GB or Wetterling but that's not really a problem.
The real problem would be that they only come in formats not really suitable for backcountry/hiking. Would they make some lighter ones I'd probably have one already.

The format thing is what's preventing me from dropping some cash on one right now too. There's one store near here that has several sizes but they're all on back order. There's a standard or yankee model with 1.75 lb head + 24" handle or 2.5 lb head + 28" handle. I think a 1.75 lb head + 24" handle would be pretty good for backcountry/hiking.

Here's a review I found with some pics: http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/815362/
