Hi!
I would first like to thank you for all the good info I can find on this forum. I have spent many hours lurking, and I have learned a lot.

My question to you axe experts is simple, what do you think about the oxhead axes like the ones we can buy here:
http://www.bensbackwoods.com/servlet/Categories?category=Axes:Oxhead

I would also have a more specific question, does anyone know a good axe dealer in eastern canada?

Thanks for any advice!

These are superb axes; I have both a double bit and a single bit on a 24" handle. They are excellent choppers, but a bit too thin to be the best splitters. I pinned the heads (drilled a 3/16" hole through and tapped in a nail, then filed it flush), and treated the handles with tung oil after sanding them down.

Lee Valley Tools
is an exellent dealer i've got my Gränfors Brüks from them.

I know a store where you can get some model of Iltis ox-head,but the store is located in Rouyn-Noranda...i dont know if they sell by mail-order.

I think the smaller Axe Head with the 4 1/4" Cutting Edge and 19 OZ.'s In wieght, 6 1/2" Total length Head on a 18" or 19" Handle would be a nice combo, I like the Thin edge profile, Just might have to give one of these a try "And the price aint bad eaither", I think these OX Head Axe's would be a Great Combo paired up with Vec's Composite GEN 1 MK 4 Handle's ! The OX Head Axe Picture Is from Ben's BackWood's.Com Web-Site,

Great idea, Snake. Based upon your recommendation I am in the process of working out the details with Vec for a build on one of the Oxhead 1.3# heads. I will post a review when I get it.
