Oxymorons

This car was actually made in Spain...

My old Chevy Nova was made in the U.S.

The Nova was probably a whole different car outside the U.S.

I come across people who call themselves 'Technical Sales' people all the time, the biggest oxymoron ever :D

Youre not wrong on that one, we had the Vauxhall Nova until a few years ago :

I dont know the exact specs but it probably features anywhere between 900 - 1300cc engine and might even push 80 bhp...

Its a favourite of the petrolheads here who spend £1000's on them to spray them up, lower them and fit 2 liter engines and 18 inch rims...why I dont know!

Just to make matters more complicated: the name of the car in the picture is Opel Corsa in Germany. :D

As Jessica Simpson famously asked her ex husband:

"Nick is this tuna or chicken? I know that it is tuna but the can says "Chicken of the Sea". So is it chicken or fish?"

That explains why they changed the name to 'corsa' when they brought the new body shape out! Vauxhall and Opel are the same company...

All has become clear in the world of budget cars...!!

Yep, that really came as a surprise to me when I walked past what looked like an Opel in London years ago, only to find out that you guys call it a Vauxhall.

Vectra, Omega, Astra, Tigra and Calibra might be some other Opel model designations you might recognize. I drive an '89 Omega.

Pepsi launched their ad campaign 'Come Alive with Pepsi' to the Phillipines and was translated to 'Pepsi raises your dead ancestors from the grave'!

Good! Now clear up the confused trucks of the world and all will be well. Dodge Ram???

Hit it or quit it, dammit. :p

A few more that leave me dazed and confused:

Taped Live
Good Lawyer
Tight Slacks
Plastic Glasses
Pretty Ugly
Head Butt
Work Party
Boneless ribs

But it truly takes a government to raise a moron. If our "military intelligence" suggests we need a "government initiative" to quell unrest in the world we can use a "governmental organization" called a "peacekeeping Force" organized with true "governmental planning and efficiency" to send "government workers" to establish a "military peace".

And then there is a "tax return". No complaints on that one though......

Finally, they hired a high-paid consultant who explained that, in Spanish, the word Nova is pronounced No Vaya and means won't/doesn't/can't go. .
It's pronounced No Va. Vaya is a different verb form.

Do you think it'd be a bad idea if a European car manufacturer introduced a pick-up truck called AFW (Ain't Friggin' Working) to the American market?
