I've been trying to get my hands on one of these for a while, enter all the lottos, no luck yet. I'm curious what folks think of this knife, I know value is completely objective, but do those who have snagged one think this was a good buy? I see a lot of them being posted for nearly double retail, which seems a little absurd to me but they do seem to sell even at those prices. Just would like to hear a bit more about folks' experiences with the knives so I can decide whether to continue the hunt or throw in the towel! Thanks BF!

If I'm not mistaken they're actually quite small, in the ballpark of a 3" blade and not too thick. Which is why I get a little sticker shock for those resale prices! Looks very well made, but also somewhat basic. It's totally my style of EDC knife, but wondering whether I should keep after it or move on!

Same here for the lottos. Maybe I’ll get one, maybe not. It fits exactly what I want in an EDC. Thin, light, reverse flick, quality non-China construction, no flipper, versatile blade shape, interesting story. Ugh.

The fact that the 100% aftermarket premium goes to someone other than the makers bugs me.

IMO, “the knife of the moment“. Appear to be good knives but the associated aura has created a feeding frenzy with the inevitable incredibly inflated pricing. Certainly, there are plenty of terrific knives at half the inflated price. Good news is it’s still a (mostly) free country so those who choose to can chase them down and pay today’s market price. And, as most have seen, this same scenario has occurred several times in the past, usually followed by a market correction bringing the cost more in line with realism. Caveat emptor mofos. :)

This. Emotion-based market activity. Similar to boom and bust cycles in other markets. For some, outlets for boredom or other voids in life include the passion for collecting. Nothing wrong with that so long as obsession is avoided. Carry on crazy world...

Couldn’t agree more! It ticks all the boxes. I don’t mind the high price tag going to the maker, but man those aftermarket prices drive up my blood pressure every time I see one posted.

Very true. When I can’t have it it makes me just want it that much more :)

I'd say put it on your reserve list. When the buying frenzy slows down and secondary prices get reasonable, if it's still on your radar, then pick one up.
Everyone knows, some are bought just to be flipped at a stupidly high price and fools don't have a problem giving scum sucking bottom feeders their money.

It’s beyond incredible in every way IMO. I have 2 now and am BLOWN away by both. Amazing amazing ergonomics, some people have said they don’t like the front finger choil but I love it. It is easily the sharpest knife from any maker I’ve ever experienced. It’s smaller and extremely lightweight which makes it easier to edc than a lot of my other options. The lock up is dead solid, the detent is perfection, you cannot fail to open it, once there is enough pressure to get past the detent ball, it’s flying open like no other knife I own. I got rid of my Koenigs bc I though the Rosie was better all around and had better action (for me). Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a Koenig fan, just love my Rosie’s. I would recommend getting a Rosie with textured titanium scales because it does add a lot of grip if you’re a sweater like me. Keep on looking on this forum, you should be able to snag one for $1200 or so and it’s worth it!!!!!!! My recommendation to all of us that own waaaaaaay more knives than we will ever use, sell 6-8 of your $200 knives and get a Rosie!!!!!!

Thanks for the input John!

One interesting thing I’ve noticed on the winners of the lottos - there is a much higher percentage of lady collectors than I ever imagined.
I’ve noticed that as well. My guess is just lots of folks angling for multiple entries, but maybe I’m just being cynical. Getting pretty tired of getting my hopes up then losing every lotto! I might ask my wife to enter but then she’d realize that I occasionally spend that much on knives

Exactly. No way would I enlist the help of anyone that knows me. First, it’s clearly unethical and in violation of even Oz’s rules, but second, I can’t deal with the judgmental reactions of them seeing the price that I don’t mind paying. 😂
