Ozark Trail worth?

I bought one at my local WM to use on my new sharpener. It was not as bad as I expected. Give it a harder pivot screw and some PB washers and it would be a decent blade. They are not far from those holiday knife packs for $20 from Kershaw.m

Worth $1.50 - yes, indeed.

Agreed. It's a good "just in case" knife for folks on a limited budget. The sort of knife that you buy a dozen of and leave scattered around "just in case." They're certainly better than the knives at Dollar Tree or in the bucket next to the register at your local mom and pop convenience store.

I like Mora Companion HDs and Leatherman Wingmans for that role, but at ~$45 for the pair it's a much bigger investment than the $1.50 for a clearance Ozark that's honestly not that bad.

I bought a couple a few years ago when they were on clearance for $2 from their normal $5-7.

I was just getting into sharpening and had a brand new KME so got them to practice. I got them shaving sharp, learned some sharpening skills and now I think they're out in the garage in the tool chest for a throwaway knife.

Like others said, I personally wouldn't trust them for any hard use or work knife.

Save your money for a Mora fixed blade or Ontario Rat 1.
