p-38 can openers...GREAT??? Unlimited functions?

I think this P38 makes a more interesting can opener.

Ouch. Keep it in your wallet. That should hold it safely in place.
 
I've had one on my keychain for probably twenty years. I keep it closed with a rubber band wrapped around the blade and "handle." I've also seen rubber tubing mentioned as another good way to stop a P-38 from stabbing you in the leg.

I've always carried it for "just in case" use, so, I haven't had the chance to learn that it'll get dull, yet.

I've carried one for years, and the only time I ever used one in an "emergency" was when a young woman I was interested in was cooking me dinner. I can't remember what she was trying to open but her cheap can opener gave up the ghost after cutting about an inch of the can. When I pulled out my keys she gave me a look like I was mental, and even after I explained the P-38 she was very skeptical. After seeing me open the can in a few seconds she was very impressed. I took it off my keychain and left it with her.
