Santa (in collaboration with my lovely wife) was kind enough to deliver this great knife made by ABS Master Smith P.J. Tomes.

It's P.J.'s large Remington Bullet which features beautiful stag scales and a 3.5" blade of forged 52100.

Overall length is right at 4.5" and the weight is 3 7/8 oz.

Fit and finish is excellent (as one would expect from P.J.) and the blade locks firmly open with an authoritative snap.

I couldn't be more pleased with this excellent addition to my custom slipjoints and it will ride in my back pocket proudly.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate it.

What a sweet addition to your fine collection Elliott! It's got all the right stuff, imho: Tomes special stag, 52100, back pocket length, and classic design. Carry it in good health my friend. Santa has excellent taste. ;)

Merry Christmas all!

Elliot,

What a package! 5200 and that rich dark Stag, man, you must be walking on air with that one.

You sure do have a very thoughtful better half indeed.

Merry Christmas.

Anthony

That's some killer stag on that beauty! Congratulations on snagging the knife ..... and the wife that got it for you!

Great pickup, Elliott. You must have been really good this past year.

Can't beat a forged Tomes with that killer stag of his. Good photos.

Well done, Mrs. Blues. I'm sure the old fella is thrilled with that one. We all know how he is about stag and forged steel.

Newbie question... How does one carry it in the back pocket? Is it vertical in the pocket? Horizontal in the bottom of the pocket? In a sheath? Thanks for any info.

Now that is a very nice gift. Very nicely done, Mrs. Blues.

Let us know how it likes your back pocket. Are you gonna use a knife purse?!?

Not that I would ever accuse a moderator of doing something a little girly.
:D:D:D

Barty,

That's a matter of personal preference. Some put larger knives alongside their wallets to keep them vertical. I personally don't use that method.

I either put them in the pocket by themselves or with a leather pocket protector I had made that is wide enough for a jeans back pocket. It keeps the knife vertical, keeps it from wearing through the denim, and allows the knife to be retrieved without fumbling with a pouch and (for the most part) keeps me from taking a beating from Tony Bose for carrying a "purse".

Thanks all for your kind comments.

That is a really fantastic knife gift for a great knife guy,Merry Christmas Elliott,

I have one of PJ Tomes' baby bullet lockbacks in stag - it measures right at 3 3/8" closed and gets a good share of pocket time (and Blues, carrying it in a "pocket protector" is not likely to slide by Tony either - "protector", "purse", "condom", it's all an exercise in semantics, though I'm sure Tony will have a bit more direct way of expressing that :D ).

Oh, trust me zerogee, I know only too well... ;) :D
