P.J. Tomes, M.S., Scagel Reproduction

Where you sit determines what you see.

Well, I can see Bose and Tomes. So I guess that's the reward for the dent. :p

"Where you sit determines what you see" has been interpreted many different ways, but never quite like that. ROTFLMAO Elliott. Your cognitive creativity is stellar, but not like a sea cow.

I hope Robuck doesn't see this and start a new trend of "knifemaker-name-buttdent-status-tattoos". (:eek:)

Of course, that could evolve into another personalized gift in the RPBM Blue Highways Line. :D

Yep, I can see the RPBM as well as top custom knifemaker logos on butts everywhere. (Replacing the ubiquitous, "Your Ad Here") :p

Based upon the recommendation of several friends here, I decided to give Paul Long a call and see what he could whip up for me in the way of a belt pouch for the Tomes.

Reluctant to ship the knife back to TX I gave Paul some of the knife's dimensions and picked a style of pouch from a handful of pix he had provided.
(I opted for an inlay of rattlesnake skin.)

Those familiar with Paul's work will not be surprised to hear me say that he nailed it. Not only is the pouch sheath beautiful to behold and solidly constructed, it is dead on in terms of holding the knife securely and lined so as not to cause any damage. I can shake the sheath upside down and no way is the knife coming loose. The knife releases with a smooth firm pull. An additional benefit is that several other knives also fit nicely in this pouch.

This is my first collaboration with Paul but I have a feeling it won't be my last.

Since I'm sure there will be interest, Paul may be contacted at: pfl@cebridge.net

I was particularly pleased to get a phone call from Blues this afternoon telling me the sheath arrived and fit the Tomes perfectly. It's always kind of touch and go when you don't actually have the knife in the shop to hand fit the finished sheath. Fortunately this style sheath is really very versatile in the fit dept., meaning generally more than one knife of similar size does nicely in the sheath. It's fully lined with deer skin which offers some micro flexability as well as afford protection for the high dollar pouch dwellers.

That is just exceptional work on that sheath, Elliott. Everything I have seen done by Paul, here and at other forums, is just stunning.

His precision attention to detail and artistic use of natural skins is evident in each and every picture I have seen of his work.

My hat is off to you Mr. Long. I hope to contact you soon regarding a new Tom Krein blade I am expecting shortly.

Outstanding, Blues. If the American Bladesmith Society ever gets around to including leather workers, it will be Paul Long M.S. (Mastersheather):D

Blues,

That is a real beauty (so is the knife) !!

I totally agree about Paul's work...it is exceptional in every aspect.

I would like to show one of his pouches that I'm very proud to own.....
