Is anyone out there familiar with any knife shops in the Northern central PA or Southern central NY area?

I have had good luck with Joe at JT's Knife shop in Port Jervis,N.Y. Near the P.A. border- exit 1 off Interstate Route 84.He is located inside of an Army & Navy Surplus store and has a nice selection of Customs and Production knives. He carries Kurt Meerdinks Phase Three fighters, real nice tactical fixed blades. Some real nice folders also.I also take a drive out to Cubeta's in CT,also off route 84 from time to time, about a two hour trip from Hyde Park,N.Y.WEll worth the trip though, they have a large selection of custom and production fixed blades and folders.Especially tactical folders. They have a couple hundred Randall knives, and I just recently picked up a Randall # 1 from them, decent price too.I bought a custom Elishewitz from Cubeta's a while back also, though I don't have it anymore since I traded it to Joe at JT's.Thats about it for decent shops in this area.Chow,Ralph

One more thing,I do recall someone mentioning an excellent knife shop in Intercourse PA.if I remember correctly, but I've never been there.

Thanks Ralph, I'll have to check that one out as well!

I second JT's knife shop in Port Jervis. Joe and I are friends and I can honestly say that his store, his service and his personality KICK A$$. His selection is awesome. He even sells instructional videos and books. His store is a must see.

I'm with Tombstone & Louis-
I've been in a couple of times & each time I walked out w/ a new knife. Good service & selection. Absolutely worth a look if you're in the area. Always good to support the "Brick & Mortar" shops as much as possible.

Port Jervis, huh? Will definitely check it out on my travels. I will have to second Cubeta's in CT. Nice eye candy for sure. Anyone looking for a Randall should definitely give them a call @ (860) 347-4353

Happy New Year everybody.

After seeing this thread I visited J.T.'s knife shop in Port Jervis the day after Christmas. It was Worth the trip. J.T. was great. Super service, great selection, good prices.

Picked up a BM DarkStar and a CRKT M-16.

Thank you all.
Have a safe and happy New Year.

I agree with you there,I'm glad you took a ride over there and checked out his shop.Joe is one of the nicest guy's you'll ever meet, and a great dealer, who knows his knives.Best Regards and a Happy New Year,Ralph

How about in the Pittsburgh area? I have yet to find one. There was a Cuttlery World in a mall, but, they are gone now, and even then, they didn't really have the best stuff, and lets not even get started on their prices, Geesh!!!!!!!!!

Ciao!!

Thanks to all who replied! I drove to Intercourse yesterday with my gf to see Country Knives. (297 miles, OMG) What a great experience and great place to do business. Brian was a gracious host who didn't complain a bit about having to clean my drool off the countertops or knives.

JT's will be my next stop in a couple weeks.

Again, thanks to all who replied. Yesterday's venture was to JT's Knife Shop in Port Jervis, NY. Great trip, great store, and great service. Joe is a pleasure to do business with, and he didn't complain about drool and fingerprints either. I highly recommend this gentleman and his business. PS .. For any of you east coast folks who've never seen a bald eagle in flight, take a trip to JT's. My secondary pleasure in this trip was just a short drive from JT's where I saw my first bald eagle in flight. What an incredible sight.

Also a nice drive is to custom knife makers shop of Kurt Meerdink, just a very short drive from JT's.Kurt is also a great host and knifemaker-He usually keeps some to sell on hand at his shop, unfortunatly at the time of my visit,I was tapped out of cash.see my post on my visit in the custom forum(do a search)

Thanks, Tombstone. I'll check it out next time I get to go to JT's.
