pac salt question

on the left side of my recently purchased pac salt, under the H1 logo you can still see (though pretty faded) the spyder logo & "pacific salt" text as in earlier models

is it normal? i mean, i thought there were different batches but now it looks like previous batches were stamped with the new logo
 
hmm... i don't know either....:D

in the pic below you can see an older pac_salt with the "pacific salt" text and a newer one with the H1 logo; it seems that mine has the H1 etched "over" the 'pacific salt' text, which is very very faded (maybe sanded, i don't know)

i was just wondering why knives from previous batches had their markings removed and were stamped with the new logos...:confused:

 
Can't say for sure, but I'd guess the "older" ones were still at the factory when the decision for the new logo was approved. No biggie.
 
Reviving this thread..

Does anyone know the order of release of the differing versions of the Pacific Salt that are floating out there?

I know that there is a PE version with just 'Pacific' on it, and another PE version with both 'Pacific' and a Spydie logo on the blade.

Anything else?

I've a Pacific Salt PE, black FRN, with a blank blade (no name, no H1, no logo) - I think this was the first batch.

Does the box have the date of manufacture code? That goes for all the variations posted so far. If you have to original box, it should have a letter code indicating month and year of manufacture. Post that along with the type of variation you have. Also a picture would be helpful.

Summary: a picture of variation and box code for date of manufacture for best gathering of variations. ;)
