H1 must be serrated, to be used as it is due.

hard to beat for an all around fixed blade

I take mine camping, hiking, to the beach, and to the forest.

Even around the house (sheath is excellent, won't notice it there)

Won't rust, tough as nails, don't get fooled by its aspect and thinness...

Hey buddy, I think you are going to really love the upcoming "Fish Hunter"! It is basically a lighter Aqua Salt that has the same edge profile but the spine is ground to make it much pointier. Similar to a dagger shape but still looks like it will be very useful for normal tasks. I was very impressed wth the prototype I saw at blade. I would choose it over the Aqua Salt for use on my kayak.

Thanks, between you, peacent, and gringo talking about it I just had to get one, it's very light and pretty slim and made short work of a box so far. Like it so far.

You are killing me with that
I really would like to know any ETA, or have a pic of a prototype or something, I am already saving.

Had a busget for the Jumpmaster 2 and Fish Hunter, but spent part of it last week on a Jumpmaster 1. Couldn't pass the deal, and I was so excited about the upcoming version I felt I had tot ry the original first.

It's all scratched up, but I pretend to grind it and make it much pointier. I don't have the tools, and will use the stones I have. I guess it's a matter of atiente an hours.

I promis pics when it arrives, and of the tip reprofiling process!

Looking to make one of these? This is the one Sal gave me at Blade last year.

A bench grinder is your friend but you could certainly do it with some elbow grease and low grit sandpaper. I'd probably start with something around a 36-40 grit. Somewhere between 6-10 hours I would guess. Mark your blade well so you stay aware of what your going for.

That bad boy looks VICIOUS Lance!!!

I have two. One Salt I SE and one pacific PE, I really wish the Pacific I had gotten SE. Great blades. The Salt I goes with me everywhere.

To all those who seem to be discovering how great SE H1 is, I'd say try out a Tasman Salt or its bigger brother, the Spyderhawk

then you'll experience true cutting power

in an ultra lightweight package.

Most excellent pics Peacent......as usual!!!
Forgive me bro, but what model is the burgundy one?? Looks like a monster!!
Joe

Man those SE ones look like pocket chain saws!!!! If I worked around fishing boats or anywhere else where I would sooo have a folder and fixed one of these. Love the looks!!! Just mean looking

Lots of praise for the Pac Salt lately. I'll have to move it up the shopping list. I do have a question though - Is the Salt I in the same league as its bigger brother or does the Pac's additional length take it to another level?

It's another level IMO.
Much sturdier, I find the extra length really useful, handles feel much stronger.

Salt I is nice as a mini-emergency knife, or around sheeple.
Weighs nothing, but is definitely much less hand filling and feels flimsier

Dang, all this talk of SE H1 and pocket chainsaws is making me think I should have one even though I don't work or spend time near the water. Is it a decent option for just puttering around the house and garden? If so, might either the Atlantic Salt and the Salt Saver be a valid option? (I like a finger choil.)

I just pulled the trigger on a knife I never thought I would buy. Thanks again, guys... Can't wait for Friday!!!

I recently got this exact same knife (I also have a yellow/satin one), it really does cut like a hacksaw. I feel like you could use it to dispose of a body if you had to...
