Sharpening my se pacific salt on the sharpmaker today and had it just about face shaving sharp when I got an itch on my temple and reached up with the knife in my hand to scratch with the back of my wrist. (Umm, probably not a great idea in hindsight) I'm honestly not sure exactly how it happened but my hand somehow hit the bill of my cap and my wrist turned and I stabbed myself in the forhead! Hehe. I hate to admit to doing something this stupid but whatever. So yeah, I stabbed myself in the face with my own knife. That is all. :)

At least it wasn't your eye that itched.

We all have these sort of moments from time to time.:p

How bad did it bleed? Sometimes the tiniest little head wound can bleed like a mofo.

I nipped the tip of my finger closing my dragonfly the other day. Didn't realize a cut that small could bleed so much. lol

No death, no Darwin Award. :D

Glad to see you'll be alright.

Yup that's the rule - better luck next time  :foot:

No - No really - I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself worse. You had to use the sharp edge though huh?

And besides which - you are just living up to your name :)

Be careful - be well.

How about a Donkey Award? Do they have one of those? ;). It's really the knifes fault!! There was nothing in the instructions that said "pointy side out"! How was I to know?!

I was opening a box and sliced my left hand first finger so badly I had to have surgery to reconnect the artery and nerve. I now have two scars on that finger, one I put there and right above it the one the surgeon placed to fix my debacle. I still don't have feeling in that finger. Good thing it wasn't my right, I would have been removed from duty, trigger finger. Now that's a Darwin award worthy story! BTW it was a Microtech SOCOM DA that bit me.

Lucky it wasn't your eye. Safety helmet with face shield from now on.:D

That was my first thought...too close for comfort IMO. Maybe you can rig up a face shield that hangs from the rim of your ballcap lol. On another note, as someone who never takes selfies, that's the best use I've seen for one yet.

since it didn't result in death, or a permanent inability to procreate, it does not score a full darwin award. might not even make a half darwin.

This is my new sharpening gear. Not only does it make sharpening safer, it helps block some of the telepathic alien attacks! Doesn't work as well as my tin foil hat of course....

I would never admit somthing like that..

But since you did..

For alien protection you need to cover it with aluminum foil!
