Package arrived! (56K Warning)

A.P.F. you are NOT helping my almost uncontrollable drive to get an Emerson. Must...resist...a little...longer

Awesome knife, enjoy!

Question, do you think the plain blade is better than a dual one with plain edge and serrations?

That is really a judgement call, Max. There are times when the serrations come in handy, such as cutting fibrous material such as vines, Blackberry, reeds, Bamboo, nylon braid and such. My only problem is that 90% of the time, I don't have to cut such material. So, if you figure that you are going to be dumped into a real 'mixed bag', then by all means, a combo blade is great. EKI make a good serration too.

Thanks for looking, Max!

Ahh this thread is going to cost me a lot of money:(

;). Thanks for the pics, you've definitley sold me on the CQC-11.

AWEOSME photo skills:) The knife is also cool, but im not sold on the recurve.

EKI ROcks

I should'a known better than to look.
It's guys like you who lead me into temptation!
Nice camera work and one real nice buy. Ernest should put you on the payroll, you've got me looking for stuff to hock.
Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Thanks much, guys! I am always happy to contribute to the lightening of wallets for a good cause. ;)

Zozo, at first I wasn't sold on a re-curve either, but they are sooo nice on a pull cut. Sharpening spooked me at first, but Spyderco has a good answer to that in the Spyderco Profile or a Sharpmaker.

Glad to see some posting on this knife. Mostly i've seen people recommending the 7, 8, 12, 13...basically everything but this design! The photos are top notch(almost as good as mine! :) I just ordered the '11'- black and serrated. I don't ever see myself as owning more than maybe 4 knives at the most at a time. I just don't have the extra money to spend on items which will likely sit and not be used. (plus i feel when you focus your personal energy around one or a few items they really become "yours" rather than many items) I bought the UTCOM to replace my aging CRKT M16 which I carried on deployment. Quite a leap to be sure; this and my BM Nimravus Tan BTS(NSN) will make for the most expensive knives I own. Plan to get more use out of my CQC as it is a folder and i consider the Nim to be more of a pure combat knife. (I've had a Ka-Bar short that was damn good, but deployment claimed it along w/ a few nice CRKT folders. Had a SOG Sealpup that i gave to a friend in the navy after never using it for a long while) Will put some pics up to further expose this smartly profiled blade...
