I hear that! Its used already and I picked it up on sale. Im usually not one to sell anyhow..Franks knives are all made to be excellent users. But if you do use it, you should be ok with a significant drop in resale value.
Agreed!!My humble opinion: If you pay for a knife that cannot be used, it cannot be a good knife, whatever the price tag.
I know others have “safe queens” but any knife ought to be functional even if you choose not to use it.
I think it will put a smile on your face whenever you take it out of your pocket. Priceless. It will be used for being in my pocket mostly, cleaning fingernails and shaving arm hair.. I can't find anything on the knife on the web..although it will be a treasure.
This will be my first custom. I am stoked!! Can't wait to have it in hand.I use all my customs including my 5 slipjoints. One, an H K Parker mirror finish slipjoint with sweet pearl, I carry in a pocket sheath the rest in the right front pocket with nothing else...until I forget![]()
As Wolfe said, resale value takes a big hit. However, I have had the good fortune to own 2 that increased in value even though carried because the maker became very popular.
Have always wanted a centofante...I have a stack of blade magazines 4' tall..One of my dream knives.I think it will put a smile on your face whenever you take it out of your pocket. Priceless.
I see your point, it took me years to pull the trigger on a sebenza because it figured it was to expensive to use, turns out they are the toughest working knives I own and I don't even hesitate to pull it out in any situation.. I scored on this centofante priced right in between a small and large sebbie. I could not stop my self from putting it in my cart. Full on autopilot.Ive carried and cut with my davison. Mind you this was a meat and cheese platter at a craft beer place so its not serious cutting. The davidson was already purchased as a user but I dont carry it often. I did buy a Pena once and as much as I wanted a full titanium slipjoint, I just didnt carry the thing as it was so expensive. Ive since let it go as well as my second davidson. I just wasnt ready for a custom knife imo, as production still seems to scratch the itch. Ill still buy 6 production gecs over one custom, most recently was the 78s. Full disclosure, carrying knives is not very common for me as I am in scrubs M-F. More of a collector really.
Exactly....if the wife has a thread hanging off her sweater.....with lightning speed....out comes the centofante!!!!Nice knife! I say use itWhen I carry my really expensive or rare knives I will use them for mundane tasks but use the knife I always have on my keys for anything dirty.
