Cool. I was invited to the Bay City area (somewhere around there) for a hog hunt sometime after Christmas. I'm afraid I won't make it though. So...how was the hunting?

Thanks It was good to meet Larry and his family.

JB. I just got in and will have to up load pic's from the wife's cameria
and all so I can post pic's.

We had 10 hunters and we only got 5 bucks and 1 Turkey. We had a lot of rain late this year and there is acorns everywhere.

It will get better later in the year.

Our Brother ,Goose sent me his Damascus,NS,Stag,110 that Ratman did for him.I must do a review on it Later.I will say that the damascus steel cuts
really good.

I also carried my 121 in the new Rudder sheath and it also worked great. Thanks Jack.

And.. I also used my 120 to cut out the innards .

Oh yea,Long bow I think junson did beat Menard, they were picked to win.

Tin, Texas and ,Them Aggies:thumbup:;)

Funny Trax .

2TonyB I thought about you but I did not get a lot of pic ,hunting was a little slow.
Will post some later.

I haven't seen the one I want yet. I've been letting the smaller ones walk on by.

Hi folks,,, I am just now checking back in here. More of the family showed up so I have been busy.

Was Great meeting Jeff and his folks.

Hunting has been a tad slow here and our first buck was taken today. Was a 6pt by a first time hunter, and his first deer. All I have taken is a couple of hogs.

This one, the son in law said would go 150. The other one he called at 80 to 90 and we weighed it at 86. No pic of that one. His girls did show pigs so he is fairly right on, calling weight.

I know you guys like pics so the other one is of the youngest granddaughter helping dress out her 8pt she took last year. She was 14 at the time.

Yeah,,,knife in hand is wrong...she had laid it down and grabbed it back up so her mom could do the pic. But she had been using it to help. This is the one that when one of my 110's wasn't laying where I had put it, turned up she was dissecting a gizzard out of one of the turkey. That was after she opened the craw and looked at what all was in there.

Maybe there will be more pics soon. I have a nib 118 D2 that needs exercising... :)

Well I went hunting and got to meet Larry . :thumbup:We had a good visit and talked about Buck Knives for a while.

That is great that you guys got together, sounds like hunting was decent as well! Thanks for sharing the picture and story.

Pack Rat, Good hunt ! Is that the girl that harvested the bigger buck last year ?
Thanks for posting the photos . DM

That gal is the granddaughter, it was her mom that took the 15 pt about this time last year. This is their youngest daughter.

Here is that pic for the new guys. But unlike the granddaughter, can't get mom on the business side of that knife...:D

I laid that shooter there trying to get some perspective as to the size of that critter, but it still makes the pig look smaller than it was.

This one is a Ruger mini 14 .223 that I put that stock on so I can adjust the length to me and anyone else that shoots it. one of those collapsible ones. The scope is a Tasco 4x16x44 that I took off my .22 mag. The .22 mag didn't do that well on the hogs if they were out 85+ yards or so.

Am using the semi auto this year in hopes that I can take more of them at the same time, should that happen again like it did last year.

For those of you that may not know what I am talking about, hogs have infested this and surrounding ranches. There are places where it looks like it was plowed, and scattered all over this 300 acres. They are considered a nuisance here and no limits or seasons.

And if someone notices, that is a 20 round magazine. Texas has removed the restrictions of 5 rounds in a hunting rifle. Probably because there aren't any 5 rounders for an AR type, and many many hunters are using these to go after the hogs.

I will try and take a pic of one of the wallows, wallers, as my niece says. :D Oh yeah.... The niece is 25 and has taken several deer with her own .243 Winchester. Maybe she will get one tomorrow.

Thanks Pack, I can't keep all your girls straight . Its nice to see them going outdoors w/ you . A .243 Win. is a good ticket for them and deer . DM

Well, I'll be...

Would you believe that's the first outhouse I've seen on stilts???

You big city boys sure got some fancy fixin's... :o
