Pager clip on knife...

I seem to remember a thread awhile back (here or at the *other* forum

) where someone was wondering if a pager clip would work on a knife- well, it does.
I was out at the local flea market and was wandering around (O.k., I was looking at knife like objects, give me a break.) when I remembered that I had a Motorola clip from a friends pager that had broken at home. (Only the little stud that actually locked it in place was broken)
Anyways, I bought a big, cheap Endura-clone lockback for like $6.00.
After getting it home and comparing pieces, I JBWelded (Thanks for the idea, Jim.) the clip to the left side at the end of the handle and c-clamped it overnight.
Well, that clip aint going nowhere, nohow, noway. After a little sanding and .44 Magnum permanent marker work, when tucked IWB in the front it really does, at least at first and maybe even second glance, look like a pager.
This would be perect for joggers as the knife-like object is *very* light and won't pull your sweats down.
Anyone else tried this yet? What do you all think?

Good idea. One question. How does it affect your grip?? More purchase or less?? Just wondering.
Blades

Blades- the clip is JBWelded just below the thong hole, which lets it cover almost 2/3rds of the handle length. (Thats why I said "at first and maybe even second glance it looks [kinda] like a pager.") It *definately* makes for a beefier grip.
Hmmmm, on second thought, make that good for medium to Jim March-sized joggers.

See, I'm 6'2". 225# but I only wear a medium glove. It is *not* as big around as a pager w/clip, maybe 2/3rds as big around, but my size medium hand fits perfectly. Any bigger around and it might get uncomfortable. Smaller hands would probably find it uncomfortable, not to mention hard to grip properly.
BTW, I went with the Endura-clone because of size and price- $6.00 doesn't exactly hurt if you mess up. And, believe it or not, the lock is pretty damn solid and the blade takes a decent edge for "this type of knife-like object."
All in all, not a bad last ditch tool, and if it gets broken or lost, no big loss.
Actually, I can't personally think of another knife I would do this to, it really was just a too much coffee and "lets see if it's possible" kind of project.
Other knives are just to expensive to do this to, especially if the clip breaks. Any body ever try to break JBWelds bond? Is it even humanly possible?

Update-
Well, after carrying this toy around while out and about while shopping with She Who Must Be Obeyed, and running to the corner store last night for some Ben & Jerry's, I reached the following conclusions.
1. Works great while wearing sweats or other loose workout gear. Not heavy enough to pull 'em down, but you still know where its at.
2. Works O.K. with jeans. The knife I used was a little too long for IWB in front of right hip carry- it rubbed my pelvis something fierce. (It's still sore.

I think my mistake was using a large folder for this prject. I think if something about the same length or just a little bit longer than the clip would make for a great "sleeper" knife.
All in all, the *idea* was great, just over the top w/a large knife.
Meanwhiles, I think I just might pass this one on to my little sister (18 y.o.) as a personal protection item. Cliped to a car visor clip down, it looks like a pager. And, since she wears her jeans a little looser (Oh, well- theres hope for her yet) than mine, she could probably get away with carrying it- G-d knows I fidgeted with it all day.
